Whether it is symbolic landscape associated with cultural meanings or something more pragmatic, we like to work with clients and communities to design places that are great value because they make sense, are loved and last a long time. For us that is sustainable design - a melding of the needs of people and the environment for the future.
Working with multidisciplinary teams or solo. we can
- engage communities in conversations about ideas and needs for their public spaces
- develop community briefs
- design masterplans for streets, town centres, parks, educational and institutional campuses, sporting facilities, tourist attractions, community gardens and more
- collate information about costs, planning needs and strategies to assist with project plannng and fundng applications
We create thoughtful and sustainable landscape designs. From concept through to delivery, we work on scales from the tiniest patch to whole precincts in regions with harsh, often dry climates.
We look at the ways people use places and interact with the environment and then suggest landscape interventions to create even better places. Some projects are ephemeral such as temporary urban interventions to test new ideas. Others provide landscape design to upgrade public spaces or landscape strategies to rehabilitate degraded places.
We are not giving you a list here because we don't want to limit your thinking. Our design strength lies in harnessing our somewhat unusual combination of skills:
- landscape architecture
- aerial and GIS mapping
- rural experience
- graphic design and communication
- systems analysis
- practical sustainability
- capacity to research almost anything
Often as part of multidisciplinary teams, we provide a landscape design and management perspective for infrastructure projects. Our involvement early in the plannng stages can provide unexpected benefits such as cost savings and improved environmental outcomes. Infrastructure projects we have worked on include
- roads and bridges
- waste transfer stations
- wind farms,
- solar farms
- industrial sites
Our work with wind and solar projects includes helping the development team satisfy conditions of development consent relating to landscape and designing landscape mitigation measures in consultation with rural landholders.
We love to keep people moving! We can help with design for:
- multipurpose walking trails
- outdoor gyms
- fitness trails
- urban agriculture
